Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born on July 10, 1980 is an American actress, singer as well as entrepreneur and philanthropist. Simpson at 17 years old, began her career in church choirs. The singer signed with Columbia Records in 1997. Her first studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999) sold over two million copies across the United States and saw the commercial success of the single "I Want to Love You Forever". Simpson decided to adopt a more mature image for her second studio album, Irresistible (2001), and the title track became her second top 20 single on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This Skin (2003) was Simpson's third studio album sold three million copies across the United States. In her previous career, Simpson became known for her relationship with and later wedding to Nick Lachey along with whom she also appeared on MTV reality television series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 and 2005. Simpson made her movie debut on The Dukes of Hazzard (2006) as Daisy Duke after the release of ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004). The soundtrack of the film also included an original song called "These Boots Are Made For Walking". In 2006 she debuted her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. Simpson was a convert to country music after the release her sixth album Do You Know (2008). Alongside her musical pursuits, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, a fashion focused line of 34 product categories. To date, the brand has earned more than $1 billion in revenue and is the most profitable celebrity licensing brand in history. In 2010, she starred in the reality series The Price of Beauty. She also acted as a judge for fashions for Fashion Star's two seasons from 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married Eric Johnson with whom she has three kids.
