Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised in an ethnically mixed family. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss as is her mom who's English. She was born in an estate in South London council estate, and at the age of 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She earned her BA in acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. The stage she appeared in was several productions as a student such as the King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting journey began with Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Her success has led her to be cast in Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in the six-episode series Trexx and Flipside in the role of Ollie. In 2008, she was offered the Bambi character on ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. She appeared in both series 2 and 3. Madekwe was a star in the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. She also appeared as a character in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path which was written directed by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 when she appeared on the drama The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes before it was ended on The CW. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Madekwe had appeared in all episodes of the series' first two seasons as an regular. In May of 2013, announcement was made that she would be departing the show following her guest appearance on the premiere episode of its third season. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred as Tituba on the show Salem. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. They worked together in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for a Gemini Award, hails from an extensive Hamilton family. Her parents Roy and Patty along with her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram, were all present. Ashley's sports brothers played baseball during summers and hockey during winters. Ashley did not have the ability to walk, but she danced. At the age of two, she started Baby Ballet and fell in love. Ashley discovered a love for dancing shortly after she joined the Baby Ballet. Ashley participated in the top divisions for jazz, tap hip-hop, ballet lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe, until she finished from high school. Ashley was awarded the best soloist awards at all of the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
